NCM 1938-153 and NCM 1938-154

2 Bronze Age log boats were discovered in May 1938 when the Trent Navigation Company was dredging an area of the Trent, near Clifton. Found under 3 feet of gravel, each are made from a single oak tree-trunk and weigh over 2 tonnes. They are 27 feet long and date from 1000-800 BC.
