Objects reflecting personal stories of those who moved to Nottingham from abroad and corresponding personal effects. Developed by museum staff and ‘Universal Roots’ project volunteers culminating in exhibitions and creative workshops in 2012/13.

Resource includes activities, guidelines and information for each item. Box meets National Curriculum requirements in History –

KS1 Changes within living memory; historical events, people and places in their own locality

KS2 An aspect or theme in British history that extends chronological knowledge before 1066. Local history study

KS3 Challenges for Britain, Europe and the wider world – 1901 to present day. Local history study
Activity pack meets National Curriculum requirement for English, Art and Design, Geography, History and Drama, Key Stage 1 – 3.
