Nottingham Museums
Volunteering
We rely on our volunteers to help us deliver exceptional visitor experiences across our heritage sites and are always looking for more to join our team.
Volunteers are vital for Nottingham Museums and personally rewarding to those who get involved.
Make a difference
There are plenty of opportunities available to get involved; from assisting curatorial staff to working with the public and helping with the upkeep of our heritage sites.
You just need buckets of enthusiasm, a friendly can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
Volunteer at Newstead Abbey
Newstead Abbey is a beautiful historic house set in a glorious landscape of gardens and parkland within the heart of Nottinghamshire, where volunteering opportunities include gardening, helping in the family activity centre and assisting with front-of-house operations.
Volunteer at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park
Wollaton Hall is a stunning Grade I listed 16th-century Elizabethan mansion set in 500 acres of natural parkland. Volunteering opportunities range from the Walled Garden restoration project to supporting family storytelling activities and our Park Rangers.
Why volunteer?
We rely on our volunteers as their gift of time and commitment makes a genuine difference to the work we are able to achieve as a service. As a thank you, volunteers receive free entry into our heritage sites and invites to previews, conferences, and the annual volunteer awards.
