Original objects reflecting the birth of British seaside holidays in the Victorian period. Resource contains information on development of coastal resorts; links to the development of railway system and the significant individuals who made it all happen, plus book of activities and information card for each item.

Box includes Kodak brownie camera; coins; bucket and spade; hand fan and lace parasol; marine telescope on stand; Leporello album; newspapers; cased octopus; souvenir pen knife and perfume bottle; penny lick; flask; sunglasses; stereoscope viewer and straw hat.

Resource meets National Curriculum requirements in History –

KS2 An aspect or theme in British history that extends chronological knowledge before 1066. Local history study
