Original and replica objects, documents and information to illustrate life in Nottinghamshire during the Great War, resource contains case studies of individuals including Nottingham Victoria Cross winner Albert Ball. All items and information focus on the effects of the war on Nottinghamshire with timeline, activities and an information card for each item.

Box includes: campaign medals; newspapers; replica Victoria Cross; trench map; flying helmet and entrenching tool; Empire Day certificates; horseshoe; brooch; standard issue New Testament; postcards and ration book; artillery shrapnel and white feather.

Resource meets National Curriculum requirements in History –

KS1 Events beyond living memory significant nationally or globally and historical events, people and places in locality

KS2 An aspect or theme in British history that extends chronological knowledge before 1066. Local history study

KS3 Challenges for Britain, Europe and the wider world: 1901 to the present day
