Persian Helmet

Helmets of this type are made using the ‘koftgari’ technique, which means inlaying steel with gold. Sets of armour, consisting of a helmet, one arm-guard (usually for the right arm) and a shield were commonly bought by 19th century collectors in Persia and brought back to England.
