Given to Nottingham by the Maharaja of Jeypore at the end of the Colonial and Indian Exhibition in the late 1880s. In exchange, a case of Nottingham lace was sent to the Jeypore Museum of Art. The model was made in the Government workshops of Jeypore in 1885.
