Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta)

Go to Nottingham City Museums

This specimen is a young Loggerhead turtle and are so named because they have a large, powerful head in proportion to the body. Found throughout the temperate and tropical regions of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans, they range far out at sea as well as in inshore reefs and rocks.
