NCM 1878-221/1-2

A gilded steel lock made by Chubb which was used by the Prince of Wales for the opening ceremony of the Castle Museum on 3rd July 1878. It has the national emblems and the Town Arms of Nottingham surmounted by a crown and “V.R.” on the front.
