The three Baskerville carriages in the collection are among the oldest surviving carriages in the country. With a painted and carved body, leather folding tilt, moveable driving seat and folding footboard, this phaeton was built for Thomas Baskerville, a High Sheriff of Wiltshire, in 1698.
