NCM 1927-13
This Japanese hanging was said to be from the Bell Tower of the Chion-in Temple, Kyoto and dated from between 1770 and 1800. However it is now thought to be a 100 years younger and was made to sell foreign customers when all things Japanese were very fashionable. Made of gold and blue brocade, embroidered and applied with various silks.
