This guillotine was made by the Nottingham firm H.S. Cropper around 1900, and is thought to be a unique piece with no other rivals in the printing industry. H.S. Cropper was formed in 1866, when initially their focus was on lace machin building. They later moved into print machinery for which they gained an international reputation.
