Go to Nottingham City MuseumsRB C15
A rare copy of Byron’s first edition of poems. It was printed in 1806, when he was 18. Byron recalled and burned many copies because the Rev. Thomas Becher, had protested that one of the love poems was indecent. Only this copy and 3 others (including the Rev. Becher’s) escaped the flames.
