Found by workmen under the chancel floor of Flawford Church in Ruddington, Nottingham in 1779. The Flawford Virgin and Child was carved between 1340-1380. The statue is 2’ 8” high and there are faint traces of colour on the crown and on the border of the Virgin’s robe.
